This is a genuine US military surplus M40/M42 series gas mask carrying case, issued to US Army and Marine Corps personnel as the standard protective mask carrier for the M40 and M42 field protective masks. Constructed from heavy-duty OD green Cordura nylon — an upgrade over the older canvas M17-era bags — it delivers improved resistance to wear, abrasion, and moisture in field conditions.
