The SureFire M961 Weapon Light is a robust, older-generation weapon-mounted light built around a metal-bodied design with a large bezel, dedicated rail mount, and remote pressure-switch control. Its configuration is well suited to long-gun setups where a separate tape switch allows the light to be activated without changing the firing grip.

The M961 uses a substantial mounting system with dual thumbscrews for securing the light to a compatible rail. The included remote pressure switch provides an alternate activation point, making the setup especially relevant for older duty, patrol, and tactical rifle configurations.
