Midland Radio 1001Z 40-Channel Mobile CB Radio, Never Issued, Police Trade

The Midland 1001Z is a compact 40-channel mobile CB radio designed for straightforward vehicle-based communication. It operates across the standard 40-channel Citizens Band frequency range and provides up to 4 watts of AM transmit power, giving users the conventional CB radio format in a relatively compact chassis.

The front panel provides direct physical controls for channel selection, volume, squelch, and RF gain. Adjustable squelch allows background noise to be suppressed when no usable signal is being received, while RF gain provides additional control over receiver sensitivity when operating around strong nearby signals. A dedicated Channel 9 function provides quick access to the traditional CB emergency channel without manually scrolling through the channel selector.

The 1001Z also incorporates an Automatic Noise Limiter to help reduce certain types of electrical interference and includes a PA mode for use with a compatible external public-address speaker. Its removable microphone and conventional vehicle-mount configuration make it a straightforward CB platform for mobile installations.
