The Garmin Astro 320 is a handheld GPS dog-tracking system built around a dedicated receiver and compatible collar transmitter rather than a phone-based tracking platform. The handheld combines GPS navigation with live dog-position data, allowing the user to monitor movement, distance, and direction from a single field device.

The Astro 320 uses a 2.6" color display and supports Garmin DC-series tracking transmitters. Its interface is designed around direct access to dog tracking, map, compass, and navigation functions, with physical controls that remain practical in outdoor use where gloves, weather, and constant movement can make touchscreen operation less convenient.

The system also supports mapping and navigation features including a worldwide shaded-relief basemap, microSD expansion, BirdsEye Satellite Imagery compatibility, and a 3-axis electronic compass. An extended-range antenna is included with the factory Astro 320 package to improve tracking performance in open terrain and other environments where additional range is useful.
