The First Choice Armor FF04SA is a NIJ 0101.06 certified Level IV stand-alone hard armor plate built around First Choice's proprietary Fierce Fiber technology — a patent-pending material bonding process that produces a plate 25% thinner than comparable Level IV plates while delivering a 38% reduction in blunt force trauma compared to standard Level IV construction in First Choice's in-house testing. Stand-alone rated, the FF04SA requires no soft armor backer to achieve full Level IV protection, stopping .30-06 M2 AP (166gr at 2880 FPS) — the highest threat level recognized under NIJ Standard 0101.06 — as well as all lesser rifle and handgun threats.
