The Bren-Tronics BTC-70819 SPC Lite is a dual-position universal military battery charger designed around interchangeable battery adapters rather than a single fixed battery interface. That modular architecture allows the charger platform to support different compatible battery types by changing the installed adapter, making the charger useful across military communications and field-electronics battery inventories.

This unit is configured with a dual-position adapter marked for BB-390B and BB-2590 series batteries. The two charging positions allow compatible batteries to be connected independently, while dedicated status indicators provide separate charge, ready, and fault information for each side. The front panel also includes charger-status indicators for power, low input power, temperature fault, and blackout status.

The BTC-70819 can accept either AC power through the integrated power connection or DC power through the dedicated front-panel DC input. A selector on the charger identifies separate DC input ranges, and an RS-232 software upgrade port is built into the control panel. This combination was intended to give the SPC Lite flexibility for both fixed-site and field charging environments without requiring a different charger for every supported battery configuration.

The charger is built directly into its olive-drab hard case, so the case functions as both transport protection and the charger enclosure during use. The original Bren-Tronics operation and service manual identifies this configuration as the SPC Lite Universal Portable Charger, Dual-Position.
