Built to the exacting standards that have made Geissele Automatics a trusted name among military, law enforcement, and serious civilian shooters, the 13" Super Modular Rail MK2 in Sand delivers a battle-proven, free-floating handguard system that checks every box — ergonomic, modular, lightweight, rigid, and built to last.

The SMR MK2 was designed to be a cost-effective option to the SMR MK1, engineered to fit the M4 Carbine and all mil-spec AR-15 variants while meeting the ten core design specifications for a superior M4 weapon rail system.

Ergonomic Design for Real-World Performance

Instead of four sharp and jagged M1913 rails spaced at 90-degree intervals, the SMR MK2 features a full-length M1913 Picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position, while the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions feature flat mounting surfaces for accessory rails. These flat surfaces feel significantly better in the hand than the sharp edges of a traditional full quad-rail setup. 

Modular & Mission Flexible

Accessory rails in the standard M1913 Picatinny configuration are included with each SMR MK2, allowing shooters to mount accessories exactly where needed. Two short and one long accessory rail are provided with each kit. Whether you're running a weapon light, laser, foregrip, or bipod, the MK2 gives you the flexibility to configure your rifle for any mission.

Proven Barrel Nut System

Each SMR MK2 comes with a precisely machined, 2-1/4" long alloy steel barrel nut and a combination wrench that removes the stock barrel nut and installs the Geissele one. The Geissele barrel nut requires no indexing to the gas tube — installation uses only a torque value for tightening. The rail slides onto the barrel nut and the precise fit precisely aligns the rail to the barrel. The result is a free-float platform that is straight, true, and zero-repeatable after every cleaning and reassembly.

Easy On, Easy Off

By loosening just two screws and one indexing screw, the SMR MK2 can be slid off the barrel nut for cleaning or gas system maintenance — and re-installed with the precise barrel nut-to-rail fit maintaining sight and accessory zero.

Sand Finish

The Sand anodized finish provides a tactical, low-profile appearance that pairs naturally with tan/FDE kit and works seamlessly in arid and desert operational environments. The Type 3 Hardcoat anodized finish delivers corrosion resistance and durability that stands up to hard use in any environment.
